G.D. Vajra Description
60% Nebbiolo 40% Pinot Noir Nostra Signora Della Neve is the most important vineyard in the blend of this Metodo Classico of Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. It is located in Roddino, where the Barolo hills rise into the Alta Langa. With magnificent vines growing on steep sides, this vineyard is every year a beautiful challenge for our harvest crew. This Metodo classico is made of Nebbiolo and Pinot nero (the latter to counterbalance the strength of the former), saignée and a minimum of 48+ months on the lees with <1g/L of dosage. Plenty of rustic personality is a journey back in time, and an ideal food pairing. This wine takes its name from the small chapel that is situated on the slopes of the vineyard, dedicated to "Nostra Signora Della Neve" Roddino: the etymological origin of the name of this village refers to the Latin “randus” which means "barren soil". This explains the effort with which these vines have to cope every year in order to give us this beautiful fruit
